In six short months AG and I got from the farthest south we’ve ever been to the farthest north we’ve ever been! (And yes, those two trips are utter extremes from each other in pretty much every other way, too.)
Iceland is magnificent. I’ve seen mountains and I’ve seen plains and I’ve seen the ocean, but in Iceland I saw all of those things in one vista. I saw a volcano and where two tectonic plates are smashing into each other. Swam in sublimely warm geothermal waters while freezing rain pelted my face. Experienced every kind of weather that can be had in the space of only a few minutes. Happily froze in the dark while watching the sky set itself on fire.
It lives up to the hype.
