At every wedding someone asks me what is the craziest thing I’ve experienced at a wedding, and honestly there isn’t much. Things usually go pretty well! But now maybe I have a story, because Kateryna + Kumar’s wedding (which went well!) is one I only found out I was shooting 24 hours beforehand. Their scheduled photographer had an emergency and fortunately I was able to swoop in and document the day.
A day that featured a mix of Sri Lankan and Ukrainian traditions (they picked the sculpture at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery for their ceremony because it’s the colours of the Ukrainian flag and the Sri Lankan cricket team!), melted chocolate, getting a tin type portrait on the riverfront trail, and SHOTS!
K and K, thanks for having me. I did do a shot at home in your honour.
