Month in Review: June 2018

Normally I’m a big planner and devote a lot of time to preparing for everything and anything. But June seemed to happen fast and furious, I felt like I was flying by the seat of my pants the whole time and… it worked out! I spent a third of June on the road (or in the air) and at no point in the past month have I completely unpacked a suitcase. Admittedly travel always messes with my routine, but it’s so worth it.

I visited Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I Did Tourism and photographed Rachel’s beautiful family. I did three days in St. Andrews, where I photographed my first wedding of the year: Jasmine + Steve’s excellent celebration, still to come. Then for the long weekend that ended the month, we were off to Halifax for friends + family fun time.

I shared Rowan’s birthday portraits, Mariam’s sweet family portraits, and Bridgitte’s graduation portraits, which were shot during one of the many incredible sunsets we enjoyed in June.

When I got back from Jasmine + Steve’s wedding I spent a week on Instagram Stories documenting the extreme non-glamour that is being a work from home parent/photographer. It’s still up in the Highlights if you want to check it out. I also maybe did a lot of crowing about the lightness, portability and all-around fabulousness of my new camera system, so uh… reminder that my old stuff is for sale! And now that I have two months with the new system under my belt, it really is time for a review…

In June we said goodbye to spring and hello to summer. Celebrated Father’s Day with beer and biking. I finally planted our veggie garden. Spent a day tidying up my office. Did sketching. I went to a hot yoga class for the first time in three years. I also went to the optometrist for the first time in about three years and whoops. I came home with a prescription for glasses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
