Was that peak summer? I know summer isn’t over yet (far from it!) but July felt pretty great. We spent so much time with family and friends, from Canada Day festivities to birthday parties (both for real people and the one we threw for our house), and catching up with people we haven’t seen in literal years! We did movies, massages, landscaping, gardening, wining and dining. I made jam. We took Zara (who learned to crawl, another way it’s been busy) to the beach. I finally got to try the “Ultimate Eggs Benny” at Sweet Belgian Desire, which, PS, I basically invented.
But no, I still haven’t read any of those books. And I still haven’t filed those office papers. Indeed, I think they have multiplied.
I photographed the Fredericton wedding celebrations of Duncan + Lise and Shannon + Evan, and shared the Peggys Cove wedding of Melissa + Will, plus the mother/daughter portrait shoot of Annie + Claire and the reunited Tracy sisters. Editing photos with a baby around is a whole different ball game, but I’m really pleased and proud to say that I’m entering August with a fresh slate — completely caught up on my work!
I’m also entering August with a fresh vision, having just completed a month-long photography composition course. Getting better is always the goal and I think the lessons and constructive, meaningful critique I received in the class will really help me develop in this, my busiest month. And hey, if that doesn’t happen, I already landed on this (really random?!) list of the 100 Top Engagement Photographers. So. Woo!
