Film Flashback: Iceland

Thanksgiving 2009 my grandfather gave me almost his entire stash of camera equipment, including some old film. We’re talking expired for fifty-plus years film. That kind of thing is an absolute treasure to a photographer… so I stuck it in a drawer until I came up with something to do with it. What I came up with was taking it to Iceland. This first image is a self-portrait I shot on expired film in the Reykjavik Museum of Photography. It doesn’t get much more meta than that.
