Month in Review: June 2017

Well don’t look now but we’re already halfway through 2017. I already know that I want to hold onto this summer forever and the first step was the annual summer fun list. We’ve crossed one thing off the list – Maybee’s pig roast – and already gone off-list by attending the St. Mary’s Powwow, catching “Baywatch” and “Wonder Woman,” going swimming, pigging out at Ribfest, and getting massages. André’s first Father’s Day went off without a hitch. I went for a solo kayak trip (I’m waiting until we can go together before crossing it off the to-do!), my veggie garden is already producing, and if I could just file this one last pile of papers, my office would be finished. Really.

Plus, my “maternity leave” is officially over. I kind of eased into the beginning of June with the Brander family’s vacation portraits, followed by Emma’s headshots,  and now the season is officially underway as I shot 6 sessions in 5 days, including the first wedding of the summer. It was great to catch up with the Nicholas family, and help Lisa + Ange celebrate their growing family on the beach outside Moncton.

Since her parents met there it seems fitting that baby’s first vacation was to Nova Scotia! All fun for her, mostly work for me. I got to shoot two mini sessions at Peggy’s Cove – the Arsenaults were up first – and Melissa + Will’s wonderful, rainy, oceanside wedding which is still to come. We topped the whole thing off with getting our own family portraits done, and I can’t wait to see the results.
