Month in Review: September 2014

Lately I find myself thinking of things in terms of first and lasts, and I just realized that September is the last month of me being unmarried. How about that? We started the month by jetting off to Alberta, which was a wonderful trip, and included my first wedding shot in the west, with Brendan & Amanda! I also shot the Saint John wedding of Kady & Seth and Pictou Lodge party celebrating Ceilidh & Rory, and shared Catherine & Marc’s Magnetic Hill Winery festivities. September also saw a major milestone as I photographed my 50th wedding with Angele & Jason, which I’ll be sharing soon. Amid all that wedding travel and wonderfulness, a few engagement shoots at home seem like the cream on top, so check out Melissa & Nick and Megan & Steve for the pretty. Also, since I think I failed to mention this before, Robyn & Ross’s early summer wedding and Amanda & Tony’s not-an-engagement shoot were both recently featured on Styled in Lace!

For the second month in a row, I didn’t manage to make a single personal post all month. In between the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival and FREX, there were meetings with our own wedding vendors (plus a wedding shower thanks to AG’s coworkers!); surprising gifts arriving in the mail; a day spent driving luxuriously home via the Sunrise Trail (sheep!); visits with our nieces, who are endlessly delightful; scanning piles of childhood photos that had been lost to my memory; attending a friend’s first gallery exhibition (check it out at Fredericton Public Library!); a provincial election to get excited about; and AG and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. It may be the last time we celebrate this day in late September, because a bigger, better occasion to celebrate is coming soon.

Bring on October. Let’s get married.
