“Second chances” are typically metaphorical, but in this case could not be more literal. Several years ago, Tim was diagnosed with a neurological disorder that robbed him of his independence: simple tasks like eating and reading replaced with an incessant and uncontrollable shaking of the head. He and Nancy travelled to the QEII in Halifax, where Tim was treated by neurosurgeons and fortunately experienced a full recovery.
It was apparent to me within seconds just how giddy Tim & Nancy are to be able to hold each other again. They hug and they laugh and they love and they celebrate getting this second chance at a beautiful life together. They are making the most of it.
